Who we are

What data we process
Depending on how you interact with us, we process:
- Reservation (accommodation, restaurant, Camp & Dinner): first and last name, email address, phone number, address, town and country, arrival and departure dates, number of guests, chosen options and any remarks or wishes.
- Payment: payment is handled by our payment provider Mollie. We receive no card or bank details; those are processed solely by Mollie. We do receive the payment status.
- Contact form: the details you enter yourself (name, email address and your message).
- Newsletter: your email address, if you voluntarily subscribe. Subscription is handled via Mailchimp.
- Website usage: anonymised, cookieless statistics (see below).
Purposes and lawful basis
- Carrying out your reservation and the related communication — lawful basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Accounting and invoicing — lawful basis: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
- Answering your contact enquiry — lawful basis: performance of a contract or our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(b)/(f) GDPR).
- Sending the newsletter — lawful basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.
Use of cookies
La Truite d'Argent does not use cookies for tracking, marketing or advertising purposes. No cookies are placed on this website that track your behaviour or personally identify you.
Cookieless analytics
To gain insight into the general use of our website, we use the European company Plausible Analytics in a cookieless configuration. This means that: 1) no cookies are placed and IP addresses are anonymised; 2) the collected data is used solely for our own statistical and analytical purposes; 3) the data is not used to identify individual visitors; 4) the data is not shared with third parties for commercial purposes. This method of measurement complies with the GDPR and requires no consent via a cookie banner.
Who we share data with (processors)
We never sell your data. We only share it with service providers who process it on our behalf, under a data processing agreement:
- Combell (Belgium) — hosting of the website and database, and email.
- Mollie (Netherlands/EU) — processing of online payments.
- Mailchimp / Intuit (United States) — newsletter delivery, only if you subscribe.
- Plausible Analytics (European Union) — cookieless, anonymised website statistics.
International transfers
Most of your data stays within the European Economic Area. Only when you subscribe to the newsletter is data processed by Mailchimp in the United States. That transfer takes place under the appropriate GDPR safeguards (EU-US Data Privacy Framework and/or standard contractual clauses).
How long we keep data
- Reservation and invoice data: up to 7 years after the stay, in line with Belgian fiscal retention law. After that they are deleted or anonymised.
- Contact messages: until your enquiry is handled and a reasonable period thereafter.
- Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and data portability, the right to object to the processing, and the right to withdraw any consent you have given. To exercise one of these rights, email . We respond within the statutory period of one month.

Security
We protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures: all traffic is encrypted via HTTPS, access to reservation data is password-protected, and we limit access to those who need it to carry out your reservation.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The most current version is always on this page, with the date of the last change shown at the top.
