La Truite d'Argent dates from 1970 and in 1998 it came up for sale. When Bob & Henja walked around the property, they immediately felt: 'this is a magical place, we are going to make something very beautiful here and we will just do it together'.
They wanted to develop a new style of accommodation: homely, informal, comfortable and deliberately small-scale. A place that serves authentic, local food and is rooted in Ardennes nature.
The small-scale inn has grown into a place where life is central and a place for like-minded people. From hotel rooms to the newest 4-person Lodge, La Truite d'Argent continues to evolve.
In the 2010s, Bob & Henja organized the legendary festival La Truite Magique, a small but unique music festival for only 1000 attendees. Named by an American magazine as one of the 5 best forest festivals in the world. But unfortunately, due to Covid, it came to an end. But the good memories are there forever.
They still hold on to the original concept; homely, informal, comfortable and small-scale. A place with great accommodations that are authentic, where they serve local food and is rooted in Ardennes nature.
Our inn doesn't look back, but forward - pragmatically, with both feet in the Ardennes moss. What once started as a refuge for those seeking tranquility is moving towards a new phase: more sustainable, smarter, more outspoken. The question is simple: who will join? When we bought Inn La Truite d'Argent in November 1998, we had no idea how much would happen in this valley. In a valley that enchants us every day... such a beautiful piece of incredibly beautiful nature.
And it was in this valley that fantastic people and great projects crossed our path.
The small-scale Inn has now become a place where life is central and a meeting place for like-minded people. There is a small café with terrace, the hotel rooms have been converted into independent Studios and we have Cabanes, Chalets and since June 2025 a 4-person Lodge. We organize intimate concerts and in the past of course the legendary festival La Truite Magique. Our days consist of taking care of guests, maintaining the domain and continuing to dream of new projects. We warmly welcome you to our 'Kingdom of Dreams'.
