The Kingdom of Dreams · 1 January
New Year's Daythe first dinner of the year
A good resolution: sitting down to five courses by our wood stove, in a valley in hibernation.
On 1 January the world is empty for a moment. The road is quiet, the valley white or grey, everyone slow. That day we light the stove and lay seven tables for the first dinner of the year: five set courses, no choices, no hurry.
If you spent the night before with us, there is nothing to plan. If you come from home, you drive through an Ardennes that is not yet awake.
